NEET is the entrance exam for Indian medical and dental schools offering MBBS and BDS degrees. It was previously called the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT). It is managed by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The test was previously administered by the Central Board of Secondary Education, which is an individual, fully independent, and self-sustaining prime testing organization (CBSE).
MBBS and BDS colleges in India offer 90,000 seats through the exam every year in May. In 2016, the Supreme Court ruled that NEET would only fill the All India Quota Seats and State Quota Seats. The top three subjects in Class 10th and 12th must be Physics, Chemistry, and Biology / Biotechnology for a candidate to study medical courses. The candidate must present their passing certificate at the time of the counseling round. NEET-undergraduate does not consider marks in Mathematics.
