The Union Public Service Commission, India’s primary regulating body, conducts one of the most competitive and prestigious examinations, civil services. UPSC stands for Union Public Service Commission. UPSC also organizes several competitive exams to meet the requirements of vacant civil service positions for the Indian government.

The Civil Services Examination, also known as the IAS (Indian Administrative Service) exam, is administered by the UPSC. UPSC Prelims and Mains are two parts of the examination. The Union Public Service Commission, India’s central recruiting agency, is one of the Constitutional bodies. As a result of Article 320 of the Indian Constitution, the UPSC was entrusted with the responsibility of recruiting Civil Servants and other Central Servants.
