BSEH conducts HTET every year. It is an aptitude exam for checking whether the teachers are capable enough to manage with the challenges that they might face while teaching the Elementary, Secondary, and Senior Secondary Schools. This exam has 3 Levels.
- Level 1- Primary school teachers (1-5)
- Level 2- Trained Graduate teachers (2-8)
- Level 3- Post Graduate teachers (8 and above)
It is for the teachers who wish to teach in Haryana. The board will issue a TET certificate to the candidates who will qualify the written examination. The certificate will be valid for five years. Candidates will then become eligible to apply for the vacancies after obtaining HTET certificate.

Eligibility Criteria
Before applying for the HTET exam, candidates have to meet certain criteria set that is different for every level of the examination.
- Age – The candidate must be older than 18 and younger than 38 to be able to apply
- Educational Qualification –
– for level 1: the candidate must have passed the 12th examination with at least 50% along with diploma in Elementary Education.
– level 2: the candidate must have a bachelor’s degree along with B.Ed and at least two years of diploma in Elementary Education (passed or appearing in the final year).
– level 3: the candidate must have a master’s degree along with B.Ed passed or appearing final exam and 2 years Diploma in elementary education (passed or be appearing for the final exam).

- Prepare yourself well in advance– It is the best way to think about preparation well in advance for success.
- Choosing the right books- Taking help from the right sources is very important. It is to keep in mind that we choose the right sources for studying for the HTET Exam.
- Focus on Studying- It is important that we put most of our focus on studying and let nothing distract us from achieving our goals.
- Maintaining distance from Mobile/ Media- Before exams, it is considered good to keep distance from any distractions, mainly social media.
- Revision- Completion of course before time makes it easier for the students to revise, making time for revision is important so that the students can get a chance to strengthen their conceptual understanding.
- Studying with the help of notes- A good practice is to study by making notes and using them for reference as it is really effective when you jot down what is important.
- Mock tests- Taking mock tests helps students to understand their strengths and weaknesses and prepare effectively.
- Coaching- It is considered necessary to take guidance from some good educators in order to ensure success in competitive exams such as HTET.
