NEET is the entrance exam for Indian medical and dental schools offering MBBS and BDS degrees. It was previously called the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT). It is managed by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The test was previously administered by the Central Board of Secondary Education, which is an individual, fully independent, and self-sustaining prime testing organization (CBSE).

MBBS and BDS colleges in India offer 90,000 seats through the exam every year in May. In 2016, the Supreme Court ruled that NEET would only fill the All India Quota Seats and State Quota Seats. The top three subjects in Class 10th and 12th must be Physics, Chemistry, and Biology / Biotechnology for a candidate to study medical courses. The candidate must present their passing certificate at the time of the counseling round. NEET-undergraduate does not consider marks in Mathematics.

NEET Post Graduate (PG)

NEET PG is an entrance test for PG diploma and MD/MS programs offered in various government, private, deemed, central, ESIC, and AFMS institutions throughout India. It allows students to gain admission to medical schools. The National Board of Education (NBE) administers this exam every year online across the country for admission to different medical colleges.

A medical graduate who wishes to pursue postgraduate studies at a prestigious medical school should be familiar with this exam. The national-level entrance exam is only open to MBBS graduates registered on the NBE’s official website.

NEET Education Qualification

Candidates who want to pursue their career in the medical field can check the education qualification requirements for NEET 2022.

  • To be eligible for NEET 2022, candidates must have a 10+2 or similar from any recognized board in the world, such as CBSE, ICSE, and all state boards.
  • English, Biology, Chemistry, and Biology must be core subjects in the 10+2 or its equivalent.
  • Candidate’s NEET eligibility will be revoked, however, if they fail their Class 12 board examinations.

Age Criteria

According to the NEET eligibility 2022, candidates must be at least 17 years old either at the time of admission or by December 31, 2022.

NEET Exam Pattern

The NEET-UG exam consists of 200 questions divided into two sections: Section A and Section B. Only 180 questionnaires from the choice list must be attempted by aspirants. NEET’s total marks are worth 720 marks.

Essential Points to Remember while marking OMR Sheet

NEET OMR Sheet will be distributed in a secured pack at the scheduled time. While filling out the OMR sheet and marking the answers, students should keep the following in mind:

  1. Make sure that the entire circle is appropriately darkened.
  2. There is a risk of the question not being calculated if you mark multiple circles.
  3. Do not do any preliminary work on the OMR sheet.
  4. Once an answer has been marked, it should not be changed or rubbed.
  5. OMR sheets for NEET should not have any stray marks.

FAQs

How many times can a student take the NEET?

In NEET, there is no limit to the number of attempts. Candidates may take the exam if they have reached the age of 17 or will do so by December 17, 2022.

How many NEET questionnaires are there in each subject?

Each subject will have two sections of 35 and 15 questions, respectively. Candidates must attempt 10 out of the questionnaire in the second section.
